About to Lower My GSR
Hey people I'm new to this web site. I can't believe i have never seen this. I got wind of it from a Celica site, ha.
Anyways I'm about to lower my 2000 GSR and this is the set up I'm thinking of.
Tockica's on Eibach Sportline's, 1.7 front 1.5 back. How does that sound to some of you ? Your input would be appreciated.
From reading some of these thread I like this place and will prob. be here alot.
If you want to check out some good racing vids go to http://www.bakersfieldstreetracing.com . Its a cool site and has a lot of good street races. That mostly where you can find me.
Anyway, I'm out. Peace

I'd go with Eibach Sportlines with Koni Yellows, a great setup, http://www.import-specialists.com has great prices on both.
**** streetracing.
**** streetracing.
Eibach Prokits ? I think 2 + inches is a little too low. Isn't that how much they lower your car ?
I'll prob go w/ this set up. I was quoted $605 for the whole deal.
How does that sound ?

The prokits lower your car 1.5" all around. They are for the more performance oriented driver. The sportlines which lower from 1.7 to 2 inches are more for looks than performance. So you basically have to decide what you will be doing with your car then that will tell you what your setup should be.
You are going to need a camber kit if you use the sportlines or any springs that drop you lower than 1.5". The pro-kit has less of a drop than the sportlines.
The Pro-kits is rated at a 1.3" drop all around.
1) dammit people! sportlines are not exactly "show only" springs. they perform just fine, thank you very much. (disclaimer: i have not owned both, like some).
2) you do not need a camber kit to use these.
3) spend a little more to get adjustable: koni yellows. even if you have to wait and save, you'll never regret it.
my 3¢

2. Nobody has to have a camber kit with the sportlines, but if you plan on spending some money on tires then I suggest you be smart and buy a set unless you plan on having to prematurely change tires. Bear in mind that not everyone with the sportlines has a camber kit, but with the drop beign lower than 1.5" i'd say to get a set.
3. Very true, the Koni's are worth their weight in gold if you plan on doing some auto-x'ing or soloI driving. On the other hand, if you do not need the adjustability and will be using the car for mainly street purposes, then there are other good shock manufacturers out there that are slightly cheaper.

I currently have the Eibach ProKit with Koni Sport Adjustable Shocks (Yellows), but before the ProKit I also have a set of the Sportlines on the Koni's as well
GsrDriver: I hope this clears up some of the questions you might have.

2) I agree again. If you're one of those super-paranoid types, go ahead and get the camber kit. Tire wear is mostly, but not directly, dependent on your toe settings. Do a wheel rotation every 6k-7.5 miles and you'll be just fine.
3) Without a doubt get Koni Yellows. They're SO worth it. Plus, if you decide to go with Eibach springs, the drop will appear to be lower in the rear and higher in the front...easily corrected with the adjustable perches of the Koni Yellows. "Stop being so cheap and get the Koni Yellows" (haha...right, Go Mifune?)
ha ha!
dude, all these parts are just for show. we must return our cars to stock condition because if you wet your finger and raise it up high, that's the way the wind is blowin today. clear corners, cool! NO CLEAR CORNERS! hey, nice three piece wing! NO WINGS!
i am so sick of these responses:
i wanna make my LS faster - SHOULDA BOUGHT A TYPE-R LOSER!
i wanna go fast, all motor - JUST BUY A TURBO, FOOL!
ok, i'm going way off on a tangent (again). must eat something.
so in closing i'd like to suggest, "DON'T BE CHEAP...JUST GET AN ALIGNMENT"

OK, So you guys have talked me into prokits. I'm not going to be autox or anything like that. Just street and strip performance. The prokits lower 1.5 all around ? Do any of you have that set up ? Does it look higher in the back or front ?
if i were you i would go with the complete type r suspesion. or at least the springs with koni adjustables (yellow), ive owned eibach spoertlines on a 95 civic vtec, ive had H&R's on a 97 gsr as well as ground control colivers with koni (red) shocks. HANDS down nothing in my opinion compares to the type r setup.....MY DISCLAIMER: ive never owned or driven on eibach pro kits. However neuspeed coilovers are the only other thing that i would recommend to you.
prokit with Koni yellows here.......no disappointment. Be sure to look at cars with this drop first to make sure it will lower enough for you, because the drop is pretty subtle. If you cannot afford the yellows, Bilstein HD is a good choice for non-adjustable.
Sure they are not "show only" but they ARE more for looks than for performance. If you dont believe me, then give Eibach a call.
And looky what I found on the Eibach site:
An Eibach Pro-Kit is designed to reduce the fender-well gap by safely lowering your vehicle, giving it a more attractive, sportier stance. The Pro-Kit is the perfect compliment to any vehicle, whether in stock form or fitted with a larger tire and wheel package. The Pro-Kit will set your vehicle off from others, giving it "The Look" you want.
More performance oriented, right.
dud! if u want, u can go for coilovers. some people like the looks of their integra when it's really low. at least if u get coilovers u can alway adjust them. i'd go for ground controls or skunk2.
bakersfield. damn, its hot out there... i was from there and was there this past weekend. damn, it was hot. well, anyway, sorry to get off topic. GSRdriver, hope you like it here...
