Default are hondas slow?

ok I have yet to be impresed on the power of a honda. What I want to know is, is there any fast hondas out there that haven had an obscene amount of money droped into them? Please include pics and basic setup if you have them.

Yeah, a friend of mine is putting over 12k into his car, fully built GSR turbo, and tons of suspension work. Mine is slow, 1/8 - 10.960, but I've only spent about $700 on the entire car. And I was racing a V6 Ranger with about the same amount of work done to it, and beat it by 6 tenths.

Someone on this board has a very good phrase in their sig....

Cheap and reliable is not fast
Cheap and fast is not reliable
Fast and reliable is not cheap

But hey, I got a JRSC for $500. Its all in who you know.

It also depends on what Honda you are talking about, and what is your definition of fast. I think fast is 150mph, ut i think quick is running 14's or better in the 1/4 mile. So actaully, honda's arent too fast, but some are pretty quick.

An s2000 is quick, and somewhat fast, but is pricey. A civic is not fast, or quick. My crx with a z6 head is pretty quick, but not that fast, maybe 130mph top speed, but who needs that. The highest speed limit is around 75 in my area. Oh yeah, and my setup really only costs around 100-200 for the head, and some extra's to get it going, so id say around 5-600, i can make my honda quick, but price ranges for how quick you want to be. I can rant on and on, its kinda fun, but ill stop now. lol.

THERE ARE PLENTY. If you want total speed for honda, the s2000 and nsx are really fine cars but are out of most of our price range,SO Hatchbacks are easily made to be fun, fast, and reliable. Most hatchbacks and crxs way from 1967-aroun 2300 STOCK. if you strip the back seats, most are aound 2000 pounds. So buy a cheap crx for like 900. Buy a b16 with mounts and linkage for around 1900 shipped and you got a mid to high 14 second car that is reliable for only 2800.
Add a b20 block for around a 1000, and your in low to mid 13s. And, you got a fun, reliable, fast, goodlooking, and nice car.
Just imagine beating a cobra or ss with only around 200 hp. IT is a good feeing for some odd reason.

Yeah man, they are slow. The fastest Honda off track i seen only beat a couple of vipers or so. All he had was a crx, B20 block, I/h/e/pulley/cams/ And some other "secret stuff". And he was all motor. Really though, a honda can be built to go fast just like alot of other cars. Most people think they cant be fast cause of the inline 4. Well inline 4s can be built up just like them hemmies and Honda hatchbacks are so light, they can make up an extra 100hp or so just from the weight. EXAMPLE: If you put an h22 or a c5(Both engines pushin around 200hp) in a crx, it usually does mid 13s with only 200HP; Compare that with a camaro ss pushin 325 doing about the same 1/4mile times . Hondas just have that lil somthing about them. When your in a car that looks nice, runs nice, and is fast, you get that feeling that everybody is starring with their jaws open like you were driving a ferrari or somthing.

That's still a very uneducated question. Slow, Fast, Quick- they are all totally subjective words. My ZC hatchback is relatively slow by my definition, but to some of my friends, or acquaintences it's fast. If you can't define the term yourself, or figure out the answer on your own, then there are other issues. It's especially dumb to ask that in a Honda forum IMO.

Hondas are slow.....so is every other car if you dont know what your doing....if you want to be impressed fooking impress yourself dude.

Just find a car that meets your requirements of life. and then aim for the stars as far as speed....then let reality hit and spend the cash and do it all right.

i dont get it......the fastest import drag car is a CR-X with an F22 all motor with a Dseries tranny......does that answer your question? oh and im not sure if you guys realise that huge turbo's take more than a quarter mile to spool to full boost........
