Getting a 2000 ITR Muffler only, couple questions..
I'm building my I/H/E part of my car so I have a stock 95 GSR w/ AEM CAI, I plan on getting a 2000 ITR Muffler, not sure of the diameter but will that be the bottleneck of my exhaust if i get a JDM 4-1, 2.5" CarSound Cat, and custom 2.5" pipe all the way down? I plan on probably getting CTR/ITR Cams, Send the head off to PortFlow and a V-tec controller next. Any other advice on my next mods would be appreciated, I should have a couple grand in the next month or so to spend. Thanks
damn, i'm wondering the same thing about the muffler.. i'm runnin that exact setup except a test pipe instead of the carsound cat and an es universal muffler right now. HOW WELL DOES AN ITR MUFFLER FLOW??
on your mods, get a set of ctr cams, sprockets, and a vtec controller and hit the dyno.. unless of course you're serious about pullin your head and sending it to portflow.. if you are don't waste money on dynoing until after all that stuff is said and done..

I've got a ITR muffler on my 96 LS.... need to play with a bit to see if it will fit correctly. Not sure what the deal is... seems to be very big on the car. If you see a ITR and how it fits, the tip sits well near the rear bumber. I may be getting rid of it if I can't get it to sit well. Was considering trying to find a Comptech Muffler or something similar. I've seen a Universal on Ebay much like the Comptech. I know the Comptech comes as a cat back system though.... It actually sounds really stock. My intake is louder than my exhaust. I have 2.25" from the cat right now. I did have a dual dtm type muffler on it and it was too loud for me.
i'm using the 2000 itr muffler on my 94 ls. it fits good for me. i'm using a greddy evolution b-pipe though. the tip doesn't stickout, actually it's a bit short but it fits and it doesn't hit anything. i think with the stock itr b-pipe it will fit perfectly.
the itr muffler flows 30% more according to acura, and also greddy tech told me that switching from stock to a greddy exhaust i would just gain 1 HP. (they thought i have an itr and i wanted to change my stock ex to greddy) with that in mind, i think the itr muffler is pretty good. it looks clean and sounds good, quiet but nice. also less noticeable by cops!
