Default 68mm STR T/B too big?

I'm going to be running CTR pistons/ cams, portflo retainers, SS valves, JG Edelbrock intake mani, and that 68mm T/B. I got the T/B for 200 w/ new TPS sensor so I took it.... Now I'm thinking... how big is too big? Spoon makes a 70mm, but Spoon motors are much more radical than my motor... Anyone have any input on this?

there should be a calculation for CFM flow into a given engine size and max RPM. Bigger isnt always better.

yeah, it's just a little too big for your application, 64 should be enough.

it wont hurt performance as much as one that is too small will. The engine will only suck the air it needs though. I'd much rather have a TB too big than too small.

Its not the exact size you might need but it won´t hurt plus you will have it in case you go bigger.

haha. spoon motors are not radical at all.... what motor is it going on? on a b16 it might be a bit much. on a built 1.8 or 2.0 it will work better

It's going on a B16a... I'll just keep it for when I do a turbo motor in the future. Ya know... after I spend the 4000 for ITB's and Stand Alone.
Anyone know any get rich quick schemes?

Show me the dyno charts... The only reason I got the JG is because of the Improvement over the type R mani. I thought the skunk was just a type R knock off. But hell if I know... I just know what I"m told. Am I right?

the skunk is an itr knock off. i dont think you will see a power gain with that manifold and TB on a 1.6...
i know i had a power loss when i put the spoon 70mm TB and my itr manifold on my b16

Let me get this straight. Your going to get Independent Throttle Bodies and then turbo your motor?

Maybe its just me but I think that ITB's is a waist when your going turbo (if its even possible).

Another thing. If your getting ITB's, why would you use the STR TB and the JG IM??

also the JG manifold is a bit to much for your set up ,you will benefit from it if you go turbo . an the spoon TB is not a true 70mm its tapper 70 but at the other end is 64 mm .Theres only so much that you can do with a oem unit. There are other TB that reach even up to 72mm outside and 70mm inside.

Oops, I'm not going to run ITB's and a turbo... I'll run the ITB's on my road race car, and use the intake mani and T/B for a street turbo setup. But I'll put then on the motor for now. I spent the money... might as well use it. \

I didn't think it was possible to run ITB's with a turbo... but I guess with the right plumbing and ECU, you can do anything.

The RB26DETT is based of of the old 240Z motors. Its been around in one form or another probably longer than most of us (counter- )

-edit-

Yes in one form or another but do you classify all engines by the same engine code just because they are similar??

Are all b series motors identical?? Didn't think so double counter
