Default Need totally honest opinions here.

Is the HASport mount and shift linkage kit really worth the extra $200 over the HCP??

I'm seriously considering getting the HCP kit, and not the HASport, because they both use the same kind of bushings, and the HCP has adjustable linkage, and money is definitely an issue .......

Any help will be appreciated!

I have the HCP kit, and i am happy with it. I have used 2 engines with the same kit, and both times it sat in nice and straight. Also, i have been in an accident which smashed my transmission/oilpan/exhaust. The mount kit came though ok, so the quality is good. I used it with a B18a and a B16a, and have never had problems with clearance. I have never used the Hasport kit, but i am happy enough with the HCP that i never wanted to try it.

man...i really dont know...maybe they don't vibrate as much...i have an HCP kit for my b16...its really stiff...it vibrates a lot but you get used to it. The vibration doesn't affect performance btw

I am using the HASport mounts and I am completely happy with them. I for one, am glad I spent the extra money on the HASports. When I went through what you are going through now, getting everyone's opinions, it was pretty obvious that most people liked the HASport better. Plus, I have not found a place yet that matches the customer service that HASport gives you. For me, that would be the sole reason I would buy from them again. Most other places don't give a ****, ans say bye bye!

As far as that cracked mount, I have never heard of that ever happening with a HASport mount. That's strange. But it is under warranty forever (the mount that is).

I went through the same dillema when I was choosing my mount kit.
HASport is quite acclaimed, but in the end I choose the HCP just because of the price...
Indeed it turned out to be a wise choice.. The engine went in nice and straight ... the axles lined up as they should and the shift linkage worked out great as well...... True there is a lot of vibration but... in my buddy jons CRX there is a lot of vibration too and he has the HAS mounts..... so bottom line HCP
I am proud to be a supporter of the underdog

I have the HAsport shift linkage and all I can say is incredible the shifts are so smooth and tight, no play on the shifter. It feels like I am driving open wheel cart.

As for the mount kit mine vibrates a lot but I really got used to it, the motor doesn't budge.

A friend of mine fabricates Place racing knock offs for like $250. As far as shift linkage for b16 into ef, modifing a 90-93 teg isn't to hard.

Thanks all, I think the HCP is the way I'm going.

If I could afford to spend the money for the HASport, I would, and even though I have the resources, I wouldn't have the little extra cash that I know I'll need for any little "unexpecteds" during the swap.

Yes things over here are expensive, but I did buy the HCP kit aswell and my engine is straight in, axles line up perfect and still able to have a\c ( if I ever get around to putting it back in ). Out of the last four b16a civic and crx's i have seen, they are all using the HCP with no problems. Except some have alot of vibration, which i hear you get used to. As far as the linkage, it fit fine and the shifts are pertty solid too. But this is just what I think.......have fun

The SiR shift linkage won't work with a mount kit. The mount kits don't place the engine in the same location as stock. But if you want to try I have a SiR shift linkage I'll sell for real cheap.

HAsport sells linkages for $199 and they are the shift they bolt right up and shift real clean.

I guess I should have been more specific. It won't work with any bolt in kit since they place the engine in a different location than the SiR.

I have the very first run of the HCP EF-18 kit. Fits straight, plus you get to use the front mount for added support. Also George at HCP is really cool, if he is not busy he will talk for awhile. The kit gives nice room for turbo too!

And its affordable too.
