The reason why i am asking is because i am a new bike rider and i want to get my first bike (2003 Ninja 250R) , i just want to hear some opinions from people that own them. I eventually want to get a bigger bike, but right now due to my budget and my experience, i think im better off with this one... what u guys think?? thanks

 

Get an older one. Even 02 models w/ under 500 miles are up to a grand less than new.

 

My wife has a 250R that I actually used to learn on. It is a great bike and can be very fun. IT is amazing how well it will corner. The only issue I had was the suspension is a little soft, being a larger guy (6'5 -215). But I never had it bottom out it was just I thought the handling could be better for me if it was a little stiffer. But don't shy away from this bike because of that. The only thing I regret is that I I did not ride it enough. I think the littler bike will really help to improve your riding.

I agree with the above, see if you can find a used bike. Though used 250s around here can still get 2400 or so. They really do not depreciate that fast. Unlike the bigger sport bikes.

 

I looked at one, people say you get bored way too quickly on them, I wound up getting an older ninja 500.......much better decision....

my first bike was a 2001 ninja 250r. I bought it with 1800 miles on it IN 2001 for $1800. You can get GREAT deals on these if they are used. Its a good little bike to learn on with plenty of power.
