thinking about trading the R for IS300, test drove the 5-speed one yesterday and its a nice...nice..car. How much should I try to get for the trade in ? I want aleast 24k for the R. Do you think i can command this dollar figure due to the R high demand.

no way. Maybe 19-20. Most cars depreciate 30% the day you drive it off the lot.

 

NO way you are going to get 24K for the trade in $. You would have a hard time getting that much just selling it. How many miles are on the car?

 

They'll laugh you right out of the Lexus dealer. Try selling it online or in the paper. Getting $24k shouldn't be a problem.

 

I think 22-23K would be most realistic if you sell it outright (and still not easy to get) for an 01 ITR, especially considering your location. There's just not that much demand for ITR's in that area of the country. Miles would have to be 3K or under to think about asking anywhere near 24K and even then, I think it would be tough to find a buyer in your region. Just my $.02
