what is a this kind of sealant?....is it another word for hondabond?

Because this manual (haynes) says to use it on caps 1 and 6.....basically the outer caps. Do I just use hondabond?, or does someone know what kind of sealant to use?

RTV silicone.

 

Anaerobic sealant won't harden until it's deprived of air. So any stuff that oozes out of the joint won't harden. Loctite is like that.

Other than that particular feature, it's kinda like RTV or other similar stuff. Is HondaBond anaerobic? (I don't know.)

Hondabond is RTV sealant...they are the same...there is a thread about this somewhere...most people use permatex grey.

 

cool.....i just went out and got some hondabond today.....works out good

 

Why did you pull the rocker arm assembly...are you installing a cam? I just went through that...

 

we pulled everything apar....valves, springs, everything but the valve guides to clean everything...so far its looking good.

 

Wow...lot of work. Your not replacing anything, just checking it all out? I wish I had a spare head to do that to.
