Default Need your help w/ spoiler removal process

I pranged my spoiler the other day; as I went to remove it thinking it would be a no-brainer, I discovered after removing the 4 nuts from below the bloody thing was still very well attached; WTF? I also removed the black plastic "stops" nearby, still no luck.

How does one get this ****** off ?

Advise please.

Just keep contant pressure as you pull, it'll let go. It will slowly peel away. Just be carefull and don't rush. The stuff left on the hatch just comes off with slight rubbing, almost rolling the residue off.

It is stuck on with a foam sticker. Simply take floss and with a sawing motion, run it between the fin and the hatch. You will only be able to go as far as the bolts/studs, but after you get that far, you will just need to slowly pry it off. Make sure while you are sawing with the floss to pull up towards the fin, so you do not scratch the paint on the lid.

Use some Goo-be-Gone to get the adhesive off.

Use heat gun or hair-dryer to loosen the glue. Then floss. I personally took over an hour to pry it off carefully with just a hair-dryer. I like it better w/o the wing.

Wingless R: If you wanted to, could you easily put your spoiler back on?

You can easily put it back on... as long as you don't fill the hole and re-paint it.

Cosworth:
I ask because everyone talks about flossing off the sticky material. But after that is gone, is it a problem that it is not there when you try to put it back on? Perhaps the two metals will rub together and get chips in the paint (I have no idea.. just wondering).

Is that any sort of problem?
