Thinking of getting a S2000...
How's it going guys. I recently decided that I am financially stable enough to get a new car to toy with. I just want to know if there are any common problems that these cars faces? Any recalls? My other car now is a 03' GTI 1.8T and have quite a good amount of mods done to it. It is very reliable contrary to popular belief. I would like to have a canyon carver for those nights when me and some guys head to route9
My other choice is a 350Z but I like the styling of the S2000 more...any recommendations for the 350Z?

try to get the 02/03 s2000. there models have all the problems( found in earlier models )fixed such as clutch, glass rear window, new oil bolts in engine, improved transmission, etc, etc.
I'd say get an 02 with a hardtop. Personally, I'd stay away from the Z. I drove my friends 350z, and it felt nice, but it felt like driving my Civic, just faster. I have a lot more fun driving around my s2k. Also, Nissan's coming out with all this great stuff lately, but we haven't really seen whether they're going to be reliable or not, and I just don't trust them yet.
Umm wow you dont know what you're talking about..
In my opinion the 350z is a much more enjoyable ride... Everything just feels so smooth and powerful and safe.
S2000 is also a joy to drive, but it feels like a honda, and you wont really be taking advantage of it unless you can unleash it into the 8k RPM zone, which wont happen often.
It's all opinionated though... I also think the 350z looks a lot better.

I have a civic and I don't see how you can feel like ur driving a civic in the Z.
Personally, I think the 350Z looks better..lol sorry s2000 owners
It's suppose to be faster than the s2k but I have no clue how much they weight
But I still

350Z and S2K are equal in my eyes. The Z is not faster. It weighs in 3700 LBS too, hence the need for a 3.5Liter V6 to keep up with a 2.0Liter 4 Cylinder.
IMO the S2k is much better looking than the 350Z.

The S2k and 350z are very similar. The s2k can get .9 on the skidpad and the 350 is at .89. The slalom speeds on the two put the s2k ahead by .4 mph. The 350z, despite its weight actually had better braking, taking off about 10 ft from the s2k's 60-0 time. All these stats are from road & track, which somehow pushed a 4.9 second 0-60 out of the s2000, so who knows how accurate those are.
The thing is, when I go into a turn with the s2k, it just points in the direction I want it to. The steering is 90% of the time dead on, and the throttle response is great. The Z was zery smooth off the line, you definitely notice the torque over the s2k, but launch the s2k at 6500 and you soon forget that you ever cared about torque. The 350z is by far a more comfortable car in my opinion, but the s2k looks and feels much more like a car that was designed with racing in mind. The 350z has some understeer, which reminds me of my ever struggling Civic. All in all, the 350z reminds me of any other car, just with a load of power, and the s2000 reminds me of a kart. Not that you couldn't beat an s2k with a 350z, but no matter who wins, I think the guy in the s2k probably had a lot more fun. Anyway, this is all my opinion, so you can't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about.

You don't know what you're talking about.
I agree. I believe the S2000 is more fun, I have driven both. But I bought the S2000.
I prefer the looks of a S2000 but the 350z with rims and a deep dish in the back also is mad sexy.
