Default Swapping sun roof for moon roof... (searched)

My friend has a '94 Prelude SI with the standard sun roof. Is there a way to swap it out for a moon roof? Anyone have a write up for this? Has anyone done this, is it easy? Where is a good place to find the moon roof?

moon roof as in what? Replace the metal with glass? There was a company that made em, but they quit making them/went out of business, but either way the glass if thats what your looking for is prolly one of the hardest things to find for a 4th gen.

Now, I myself have wanted to do this!!! So I have done some research on this also.
1) I thought I could get the glass from a 5thgen. Umm NOPE! way too small.
2) I contacted the dealer, HONDA. you can't get the glass from the dealer.
Honda doesn't offer it in glass. I didn't think they did, never hurts to ask...

So unless you get some After market "Moonroof" Then you and all us other 4th gen lude owners are S.O.L.
If you find something N.O.S. or something close, LET ME KNOW!!!!
I want a perfect fit (glass) and I am not wanting to change out the entire sunroof!!

I would think that if you contact a place that installs moon roofs they might be able to help you out. Chances are that you will have to swap out the whole thing. The rails just would not work for glass. Personally I would hate to have glass since you could not get a cover for the inside to block the light. Sit in Traffic once with the sun burning your leg and you will wish there was a way to block it. Plus I think it would look bad on any color except black maybe if you tinted it enough.

I have another car with a glass sunroof and that is the sunshade is the first thing I open when I get int the car. My Prelude is even darker inside. I want some more sunlight to come into the cabin.

I was thinking because he already has the sun roof it wouldn't be hard to put in the moon roof. By the sounds of it though, he'd need to take apart the entire roof to swap out the rails and glass roof. I'm sure it'd be tinted so i'm not worried about that. but it sounds like a huge project.
