Default Battle of the Integras, LS v GSR v ITR

Hi,

I'm investigating my options on what to do after getting into an accident with my car. I've always (perhaps blindly) been under the impression that the ITR was really something special, until I talked to some people recently. First of all, the RSX Type-S has 5 more horsepower and more torque. More importantly, though, is that the RSX chassis is about 150% stiffer than the DC2 chassis. So basically, the ITR is no longer "anything special" in terms of stiffness?

Which leads to the question... what would be the best buy for a daily driven autocross and road race car? An Integra LS with 8-10 psi boost from a turbocharger and suspension, an Integra GS-R with bolt-on I/H/C/E and suspension, or a stock Integra Type-R?

Thanks,
Ben

I'd go with the GSR or ITR.

If you mod the GSR then you'll see the same results as a type r. Without the threat of someone stealing it everytime you go somewhere (yes i know GSR's are stolen a lot too, but ITR's are pretty damn bad).

I chose all motor GSR. But thats just me. I could have gotten an ITR. But chose my GSR instead.

for a daily driven autocross and road race car I would definatly go wit a turbo LS wit a good suspension set up, lots of low-mid end torque

I wouldn't want to fill up with race gas every day on the way to work and have to cruise around town with that head setup, but that is just me

Why not buy a M3 while I'm at it? Because funds are limited. The way I figure it, I will work with the same amount of money for any of the options listed above. Its a theoretical anyway.

Most of us are clicking turbo ls cuz it would most likely be faster - bolt on ITR is different or supercharged gsr - best best is LS turbo from the options you showed

OK, in all honesty I've located a 98 ITR with boltons and suspension (Mugen, Apexi, Tein). This is my "ITR Option"

I would say Type-R w/ the bolt-on's and suspension, go fast to start with. Also since you mentioned autoX and road race, it would be the best handling too.

And it will retain it's value more later if you do decide to sell it.

and invest 10% of the worth of the car in security, like Lo Jack, etc.

since your last LS bit the dust with a rear-ending accident.

your first order of business is to build your car around

just playing Ben.

TurboLS sounds fun.

but you know me, Yamaha R6 then a truck or old Gs-R.

its because you can't build a motor. you just want to slap on a turbo and try and get some good hp numbers. when most turbo cars can't even hit 13's with 200+ whp because they can't hook up or they can't drive. its because they have a rich *** driver that thinks just because he has a turbo that he can't be touched. when hand in hand, i've thrown around a ton of turbo's in my day with my ALL MOTOR setup. And yes my "overrated" vtec. HAHA.....ill stick with a mean powerband and an all motor setup anyway. yes, i know you can push out more ponies ( you guys that know what your doing).....but how well can you hook up? I know a bunch run nice times, but i've seen so many put out nice horsepower numbers and still run 14's. Plus most of them aren't reliable at all......

I say all motor man. You'll have more props from people. Its more impressive

how in the hell is all motor more impressive.... cause you spent more money on the motor than u you could of boosting it... rich turbo people? last time i checked all motor cost more than boost, when trying to acheive the same horse power levels. im not rich and i hit 13's on a turbo ls. this was done with just the kit, i still had oem tires ( 30% tread) and oem exhuast. no fuel upgrades etc... it would cost you more trying to hit 230 whp on a all motor gs-r then it would on a Ls turbo.

why not a supercharged gsr with suspension and the itr rear bar. or even better an aftermarket rear bar. cuz the gsr already has the front bar. i may be biased cuz thats what i drive but i like the gsr better. and im supercharger all the way.v-tec is overrated but still better than not having it.
performance first!

Why make things harder on yourself? Nobody is asking you to carry a cross bro, boost is just an easier way to go fast reliably. Going on 12k boosted miles on my stock block b18b now, its been beaten to hell almost daily and still runs like a champ. If I could do it again, I would go turbo LS again in a heartbeat. You're complaining about turbo lag, which means you don't know much about turbos, cuz that is what the non turbo guys are always whining about. It's not an issue if you build a setup that fits your needs. Mean NA powerband, huh... so where's the torque?
