Default anyway to bypass DVD navigation?

Is there anyway to bypass a dvd navigation unit to play DVD's? Someone told me its possible to do but kinda confusing. The retard just told me it was confusing and didnt bother going into details. I cant get in touch with him now since he is away. Is it even possible? I may be getting an alpine Navigation unit and a DVD unit but if I can get the navigation to play dvd's, there will be no need for all the extra equipment and extra space that it takes up. not mentioning the headache in wiring all that junk. anyway, is it possible? TIA

A guy sells a little black box on Ebay to bypass the safety switch. Also a PAC 7 module will do the same but the black box is smaller since that is what I went with.

no there is no way to bypass it.. sorry dude.. and if you go messing with circuitry in the unit you['l void your warranty, and most likely you dont know what your doing so i wouldnt even mess with it, and take it for what it is.. and a cheap dvd player runs around 250

nav tv is good ****, but is for factory screens... if you are talking about playing a dvd movie through an Alpine DVD-Rom navigation unit, then no there is no interface, you can use any alpine screen to watch dvd's but you need a dvd player, the only units I am familiar with that will do both navi and dvd is the pioneer, I know alpine doesn't. the dvd-rom Nav unit only does NAV it doesn't play movies....
