Default 94-95 LS long block, in a 97 LS?

Im thinking changin out my long-block for a newer one with less miles on it. hmotorsonline has em ' for around $700 but it says its a 94-95 long block, i have a 97 and i was wondering if i just swapped everything out, would it work the same? Or if i get the B20 long block and just left it as is since the b20's are alredy obd-2 and swapped everything like intake mani, tranny, and exhaust mani. would i run into smog issues as far as passing the sniffer?

the long block is a direct replacement and the b20 would be a direct bolt in but not sure if it would pass...

in most places its illegal to put a motor in your car thats older than the car itself. go with the b20. its about the same price.
