Removing reverse sensor from tranny?

Removing reverse sensor from tranny?
My reverse lights arent working so im planning on taking out my reverse sensor and inspecting it. Is there anything i need to worry about(ie:extra parts that can fall in the hole,or transmission fluid leaking out?) thanks for any info.
