Default more agressive cam w/stock valvetrain

I have a 98 usdm gsr motor in my hatch. I'm planning on getting some skunk or crane (can get a great deal) stage 1 cams for it. Would i need to upgrade to dual valvesprings?? I plan on keeping stock redline MAYBE increasing it by 100 or 200 rpms...not much at all. Ive tried searching but some say yes...some say no. I know that could happen with this post but im hpinh to get an experienced users response also. Thanks

Drew

I like more pressure. How ever MAX_CFM runs alot lower pressure than I like to fine.

I wouldn't use the stock springs though.

Well you already have dual valvesprings from the factory. So you would just be upgrading so something witih more seat pressure. For Skunk2 stage 1's they are not "required" but recomended. If you want atleast do a Portflow/ITR type set-up if on a budget.

Damn i didnt know that...i thought just ITR's had dual valve springs..i learned something today. But what about b16 heads? I have a complete b16 head on the b18c block because my gsr head was f-ed up...i do have the gsr cams in there though if that makes a damn. I would have given this info before but i didnt think it would matter. Do b16's have duals?? Just wondering. Thanks for the info.

B16s have dual valve springs on the intake only. the exhaust has single springs.
