I just meant for keeping the motor in the powerband. Auto's almost always shift prematurely.

Yeah it suck to have automatic.

I too have heard of automatic gs-r in Japan but have never been able to confirmed this. However, I know for a fact that their is NO automatic gsr here in the states.
I heard there was automatic JDM gsrs too.

and so do VTEC ludes, my point is that auto trannies BLOW. Example: my friends Prelude with the "Sport Shift" auto drops VTEC when shifting first to second, and it's fuel cut is lower. People that do 5 speed swaps gain over a second in the 1/4 mile.
Yes.
there were A/T JDM GS-R's. And there were was a AWD teg in japan, too. And maybe, just maybe you could get the A/T GSR's as 4 doors too. I'll have to check my JDM books and brochures.
This topic reminded me of a ?. Why are JDM honda brochures written in english? Not 100% in english but a good portion? (just a rhetorical ?, really. lol)

I will confirm the existence of an auto trans on Vtec. My Japanese engine came with a flex plate instead of a flywheel. It seems to me the motor would be in better shape driven by an auto trans driver. It's probably the same as an LS auto trans, maybe the shift points are just set differently.

Yes, they did. I've had 2 auto P72 ECUs before (couldn't chip them either) and we had an auto GSR swap come through on a container before.... I think we still have the auto GSR tranny laying around, along with a B16 auto tranny from a 95 swap

Could have been an SE/GS unless you looked at the motor.
My guess is that the JDM GS-R auto tranny is just an LS auto tranny.

Believe it or not, i have actually seen a usdm GSR with auto tranny. Ive seen the sticker and it costs a grip add the option. I will have to get pics asap and post. The chick works with me.
