Condensation inside the headlights... ?
I've got a set of 'used' CTR headlights I ordered from the guys over at Password... and I've just gotten around to hooking them up (after stuffing them with a CATZ 5500k HID kit...) and as I was washing my car yesterday (it was *very* humid outside) the inside of the lights (moreso the driverside) hazed over very lightly inside... you could still see the bulbs and reflectirs, and there were never any droplets, but it was there. I'm kinda bummed here. Any idea on how to remedy the problem? It was light enough that when I turned on the headlights, I watched the condensation evaporate in less then a minute. Any way to reseal these puppies? Thanks!
My stock '96 headlights were doing that too.... what I did:
1)Take them off the car.
2)Heat the seals with a hot hair-dryer.
3)Using a flat head screw driver, slowly pry the headlight assembly into 2 seperate pieces. This takes a long time.
4)Resealed using liberal amounts of clear waterproof silicone. This stuff STINKS...I wonder if breast implants smell like this?
5)Clean the edges of the excess silicone. Some will ooze out of the cracks...just wipe it up.
6)Let everything dry then re-install.
I haven't had any problems since..hope this helps.
