Default jdm ef8 airbox or aem cai?

do you think the ef8 airbox will be able to make as much power, when using a high flow filter like HKS or K&N? i'll probably run a cold air duct to the air box, but do you think that could make as much as a AEM CAI(99-00 Si)?

Default shitty underwear

there are too many bends in CAI's and it causes turbulance...my buddy had a CAI, the AEM one on his 99 Si and he made 11 more built **** power with a short ram

sounds like your friend was a 1/1,000,000 case. CAI make more power simply by design, not because of the bends in the piping, but because of the lower temps they're able to get. why do you think people call short rams, hot air intakes?

a short ram wont add CLOSE to 11hp, let alone 11hp over a CAI.........

he said "built", so presumably the engein is already well modified. all you're adding is a percentage, so if the HP was high enough maybe teh short ram was adding that much. still the CAI should add more. hot air is no good. period.

or maybe the device measuring hp was "less than accurate."

yeah it's HIGHLY unlikely to net 11hp from a damn short ram.

I'm a fan of stock airboxes filled with a K&N drop-in......clean stock look, better breathing than a CAI imo, and a nice clean growl, not a ricey fat intake sound. All of my cars get this setup.

Not to be a dick , but your opinion isn't dyno-proven

But hell yeah, it's got a nice growl with a slightly modded stock airbox
