Default RS*R, Tanabe, or HKS Drager: which for LS??

ok i'm in the market for a new exhaust. i'm currently running a jdm itr catback but i need something w/ more flow. i'm interested in a catback that isnt loud n raspy like an apexi N1. i might be going w/ cams later on the LS. so i've narrowed it down to 3 exhausts: RS*R ex-mag street, Tanabe Hyper Medallion, and the HKS Drager. which one would be ideal for my setup and has a good tone to it? TIA for the replys

The Evo has a nice deep sound to it.

RSR ex mag all the way. It sounds tuned and not high pitched. It's not really deep like the evo, but it has a nice sports car tune to it.

The rest are pretty anoying after a while.

i would get this exhaust but it looks kinda loud...doesnt it?

i want something with a low deep tone, not too loud, and flows good. i already know i have to sacrifice power for quietness thats why its hard finding one out there that has both. ok... forget about the tanabe because i heard bad things about them.

Oh man, you have to be shitting me. RSR is the best exhaust ever PERIOD!!!!! It's silent and it has the best numbers on the dyno chart, did I say it's silent too? Do you know how nice a silent muffler is besides stock? You get to hear your motor in front of you actually work, instead of that annoying muffler sound, you guys know what i'm talking about. RSR is also JDM, whenever it's JDM you got to know it's gonna be good, cuz JDM is the best. Go w/ RSR for sure!!!

yea tanabe is now out of the question. i heard they're exhausts are crap...or turn to crap after a year. same w/ the greddy because i have an SP in the garage thats got the shakes inside of it. hks i know is a very reputable company so i'll look into the drager more. ok now... is the ex-mag gt2 real loud compared to the original ex-mag street? trying to narrow down my decisions to 1!!

better just go with the rs-r!
i love mine!!....
and now that i think about flow......
at idle... if i put my hand at the tip....i dont feel any exhaust hitting my hand.... so it must be moderately free flowing!!

I had the HKS Super Dragger on my ls before it was stolen. Maybe there was something wrong with mine but it was really really quiet. it was even more quiet after i put my turbo in.

Whoever told you that Tanabe exhaust are crap prolly has never owned one or knows how to judge quality. Tanabe makes very high quality exhaust compnents.

I probably wouldn't buy anything else after owning my Racing Medalion. As far as all the dynos I've seen. Not many exhaust systems come close to touching the kinds of gains you get out of that system. Only downfall is that it's loud.

Greddy SP2. just came out. Full stainless, less restrictions than the original SP. Greddy guys told me sounds a lil deeper and not one bit louder. I'm getting it as soon as I have the extra $$.

Okay for your LS, Greddy Evo, it sound sweet and not too loud. Tanabe Racing Medallion sound like F1 style when it wailing the tune. Apexi Dunk sound pretty loud than Greddy Evo but sound are almost same. Apexi N1 and HKS N1 are the loudest exhaust on the market. I never heard HKS dragger in person yet. I say, go with HKS N1! You will love the style and the sound. I have it on my car. I love the wailing of the N1.

Yeap. I own a Tanabe Super HYPER Medalion. It's not nearly as loud as the RACING Medalion. It has a nice tone and can scream when you let it loose. I've had mine for over a year and it still looks shiny as new. Their quality is very nice indeed.

Whoever says the Greddy Evo is not loud is a freakin' moron. I've heard the exhuast ... and it is not quiet (or for the recored "not too loud.") Compared to my Apex'i World Sport cat-back ... the Evo is a fartcan. Adding FI to your car with the Evo lessens the noise decibels somewhat. I recommend either the RSR Ex-mag, or Mugen Twin-Loop.

i've got the apexi N1. it's not loud at all, sounds almost like my friend's DC exhaust. but maybe the turbo has something to do with it...

go with the hks drager... how can u say no? who needs a baffle.. not i said the fly...

yea and this one.. not so pretty(it's just kinda hanging there)... without the baffle it suure is noisy.. but the flow is definetly there... tanabe ultra medallion

i guess its okay for its lightweight design .. sounds awesome at the track.. talk about not being able to hear ur passenger screaming in fear..
