ITR carbon fiber dash trim? (why not)
in my 98 itr it doesnt have any of the carbon fiber dash trim in the center, just the cluster is cf. was it an option or not avail. in the 98? or does this mean it has been broken into and replaced with the black? thanks for the help
the carbonfiber is jdm. north america cars didnt come with it. its not only the center console that carbon fiber. the vents and the part where the power window switch is, is also carbon fiber.

Actually that is only true for the canadian Rs.
The ones in the US came with the faux carbon fiber trim in the years 2000-2001.

oh alright i wasnt to sure i jus saw an r in america that didnt have the carbon fiber so i thought it was both america and canada. my bad

Yeah I feel the same way. It looks totaly cheezy, but to take it out is a pita. I had to replace the back lights for the AC controlls in my old GSR and that was a bitch and I didn't even remove it all the way.

Mine was really easy to take out. There are two screws underneath the big hazard/rear defrost buttons for the AC panel. You have to unclip a line for the heat control, which is easy too. You just have to figure it out and give it a good tug. The driver side one just pops off if I remember correctly (maybe one screw).
Most guys will trade you there stock black pieces for the CF. Thats what I did with mine minus the driver side vent.
