I bought the car in its current condition. All I know is that it was retrieved from a lake.

Um, okay, post some pics here buddy.

Also, why are you selling?

Your short response on the the lake thing makes me wonder; plus the cheap price; what is wrong with the car man?

there is some major water in the headlights...this car went for a swim!

I could use some of the parts...B18C5 into my Del Sol sounds nice!

I know I could unload some other parts too!...seems fishy (pun intended w/ the swim) that it would sell for that cheap though unless something really wrong.

Hmmm..I'm very skeptical...This car might be "HOT"... As the saying goes, if it's too good to be true, then it probably isn't...damm..with these damn ITR thefts now adays...shoot, who knows

HERE IT IS:

the car is:
1) not stolen
2) not HOT
3) and the motor is not shot

I'm selling the car because I need the money. I originally bought the car to fix and keep but I have to pay for school and won't have time to put into cleaning the car up and the little nuts and bolts. The reason why the price is so cheap is because I got it cheap from the insurance company. It does have a salvage title after all. For those who don't know, the value of salvage title vehicles are lower than clean title vehilces. If you get the car and put some money or your own time and effort into it, then you'll have yourself a 2000 Type R for a fraction of what a used one goes for out there. Or, you can part it out and keep whatever you want for yourself. I have the pink and everything. Nothing hot about this deal.

I think it would be a good deal at $7500, not a penny more, but I don't happen to have that around right now, otherwise I'd pick it up as a parts car in a hurry.

If you bought it back, it probably costed you less than that.

Man, could you get a little more crap in that garage. I thought my garage looked awful. Mine looks like a palace compared to that one.

I don't think a drowned R is worth $11,500. I'd like to hear the story behind how it made the swim though.

Nice. I just saw the picture. I like the water in the headlights. Not condensation. Big pools of water.

Good parts car or chassis, but I wouldn't count on it hitting the streets again. Flood damaged cars tend to have quirky electrical problems. Also, was the car running when it went fishing? If it was, there's gonna be some engine damage.

if you look at the strut tower bar, it looks rusty. if that's the case, the car was REALLY in pretty deep!

d1deez, does the engine start? Have you driven it since it was removed from the lake? What about the interior? Are the seats all waterlogged and nasty? I'm looking for a cheap R to race in the Poconos.

The car was not running when it was flooded. Car would be a good parts car but I don't have the time to deal with it. Just need some money and soon. $7,500 would be a steal for this car.($3,000-chasis, $4,500-engine, $2,500-5lug spindles/arms w/wheels, $1,500-seats, $500-suspension, $1000-misc.)>$11,500.
This car would be better for those who ACTUALLY know how to work on cars than those who take their cars to the local shops.

good luck getting 4,500 for a motor from a flooded car.. if you're honest with the buyer anyways. 1500 for the seats?? lol.

the 2500 for the 5lug swap is too much IMO as well. And no one in their right mind will pay 500 bucks for ITR springs/shocks/LCAs/Swaybar, at least not from a car obviously exposed to water for a good time.

I'd say 7,500 is the MOST that this car is worth, that's being generous IMO.

Good luck finding one for $7,500. Not a 2000 ITR at least. I'd jump on that one. I've been to the insurance auctions and I've seen a badly twisted ITR go for $9,000 and this car was litterally through the ringer. Please don't low ball or discount my car if you haven't seen it in person nor if you have been to insurance auctions to see what these cars go for. Obviously, I was only willing to pay $100 more than the next guy who was willing to pay $10,000+ to fix the car and sell it to the public.

But you see, the difference with that is that you have a better chance of the engine working still...water damage is just so tricky, especially w/ all of the bugs that will be in the electrical system.
