need help fast!! adjusting valves on GSR
i need help in determining where Top Dead Center is on the #1 cyl. i know theres a white TDC mark on the crankshaft pulley, but how do i know when that thing is sticking straight up whether the #1 cyl is at TDC, or #2, 3, or 4 is at TDC? i called honda and the guy there confused me even more. i need to go to class at 4:45 (est) so i need help fast!
can anyone help me out? maybe a how-to with pics?? i'll search too. thanks.

well take your valvcover off.. theres pointers on the cam sprokets... and to even make sure look at the cylinder # 1 and see if the lobes are completely off the rockers you should see the rounded partfacing the rockers and the pointed part of the cam up
Get a long screwdriver or a wooden dowel & put it in the spark plug hole. You know its tdc when the dowel or screwdriver is raised up. But do it carefully
good how to.

thanks. actually, i found that site in the middle of the process, and it helped a lot better than muy haynes manual. good site
you don't need to use a screwdriver to find TDC for Valve adj. Sense the VC is already off just look at the cam. Is the lobe pointed up? then the base circle must be down on the rocker. adj the valves like that. Im a Tech I make money by working fast. That is how to do it fast. and SIMPLE!!!

yep my friend and I held a double valve adjustment session on both our cars this past Saturday. With him working the feeler guage and me using the valve adjustment tool, we checked and adjusted the valve lash in about 30-45 minutes per car.
