Default water in spare tire well

I apparently have a leak somewhere resulting in water getting in my spare tire well. The carpeting 'up top' in the rear hatch area is dry.

It does appear to be sourcing towards the back of the car - perhaps from under the plastic, and was wondering if it's leaking around the tail lights.... I don't see anything to indicate it's coming from the hatch seal.

Anybody have experience with this?

If its coming from the taillights. I make taillight gaskets for third gen integras. Half the price of the dealer cost.

check the tube connected from yoru antenna, and the tube coming from your sunroof (if you have one). These areas are known entry points for water coming into your wheel well.

so, some more data and another question:

1) yesterday, rain, listened to radio (i.e., antenna up), water in spare wheel well.

2) today, rain, did NOT listen to radio (i.e., antenna down), NO water in spare wheel well.

$64,000 Q: Does the antenna only leak when up? :-)

I agree with the taillights. I have a 99 ek hatch, and everyone who I ask with a 96 ek hatch has the same problem. Forget the gaskets. Man those things are expensive. Do what I did and drill numerous holes in your spare trunk.

15 year old thread.
Take the old spongy black gasket to a arts & crafts store and ask someone where that craft material is located.
It's a couple of bucks each sheet and you can cut your own.

Instead of using the OEM's tail light gasket, I'd by 1/32" (0.8mm) or 1/16" thick silicone rubber from ebay. Cut it to the shape of the OEM, then use silicone caulk to stick the rubber to the car's body.

If you wish to remove it, I'd use gasoline and a plastic scraper.

In my opinon the tailight gasket isn't just to blame for the water leak in spare tire well. There was water on the butt support of the rear passenger seat. Seats were already removed since I need to change the fuel pump.
Some are saying sunroof drain.

I was at the junkyard the other day and noticed a 1" OD tube on both sides of the Integra.

Again, if the tail light gasket were to solely to blame for this, then the carpet would be soaking wet/smelly for a long while. Had to throw away the OEM scissor jack because of this nuisance.

Edit: I went ahead an put silicone tape and zip tie, on both sides of the car.
