well some of u know me and in the events of the past few weeks i have really been debating on keep it or not.
well tonight my **** broke down. i havent really looked at it yet but i look for the obvious signs.. nothing..
well get a tow truck to come out (3hrs later) he gets there.. i told him to bring 2x4s (i drive tow truck sometimes for my dads company), ****** doenst bring any.. so he rips of my front and rear bumpers...
this and my tires are bald as ****
no traction even with good tires..
im thinkin about selling this ****** thing and getting a nsx or a rbpowered240
what do u guys think i should do
if i keep ill have to fix the front and rear bumpers, get new rims and tires, lsd, better clutch. i dont know if its worth it

Sell it once you quit having fun. That's it. The car is a pain in the ***, but I love it. I mean damn, so far I've broke down in Wisconsin, Iowa, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas. And that is just this year alone. I just don't see myself rolling in a nissan and I do see myself running into the exact same problems with an NSX(if I could afford one). The NSX is a damn 13 second car. You'll run into an SS, get spanked, and start modding it the next day. Then you'll be back at square one, but instead of having a new clutch cost $400 it'll cost $1400. I don't even want to know how much those motors go for.
If you don't have a beater, get one. That's the only advice that I can bring myself to give you. I know that my car will never leave my possession because there is too much of my blood and sweat under the hood of that bitch. Hell there is probably some skin sticking in there too. Damn intake manifold bolts.

like laughinxxx said only sell her if you have lost the enjoyment. to me you are having a bad month. fix her up and go for it all over again. from what i have read and all your car is too bad *** to get rid of. but i dont own it and i dont deal with her problems.
EDIT: Sam says sell it.

Sorry to hear about this.
But I have said it before...and I will say it again....Hondas are NOT meant to be boosted. Simple as that.
If I were you I would sell the turbo and just get an H22 swap. Use the car for what it was meant to be...a very efficient, somewhat quick NA car.
I never understood why people continue to pour LOTS of money into a FWD 4cyl and expect it to go fast and be reliable. Sad to see so much money wasted.
Good luck in your decision.

u have no clue what this hondata pos has me doing. im on my 3rd ecu(possibly my 4th now if thats the problem again).
lee, it just seems to me that you have put way to much money and learned way to much to just give up and sell it. everyone is entittled to their own opinion but in the end its up to you. You have soo much money and time and knowledge invested in your car, to me to just give up now doesn't seem right. But , everyone is right, if your not having fun anymore, then maybe its time to sell it. hope all works out and you make the right choice.

'97 s14.5 chassis: 8500
rb25det clip: 3250 + shipping
diy install: 3 days
251 bhp
'92 NSX: 22,000
276 bhp
i've been tempted by the idea of driving a '92 nsx and selling my 5th gen, but then i contemplate trying to go to costco with it, or worse yet, the mountains, and the cost of buying a beater pickup truck adds another 3000+insurance to the mix. financially speaking, keeping your lude or getting the s14.5 makes more sense, but how bad are winters in your part of the country? nothing like a boosted s14.5 on snow sliding off the road.

Not to start up this debate again, you are intitled to your opinion, but I think you're wrong. Obviously the car wasn't designed to be turbo'd - but at it's core, all engines can be boosted. The turbo has nothing to do with an engine failing. If people invested a few extra bucks and did things like install dedicated wideband O2 sensors, detonation protection, and temperature measurement, maybe we wouldn't have this problem of boosted cars blowing up.
I put lots of money into projects that ARE fast and reliable. Of course, I make sure I know what I'm doing, first.
If it breaks.. fix it so it'll never break again.

i tend to agree that honda has never boosted a car from the factory for a reason, and that going turbo is a very $$$ and difficult (at times) route.
i still admire the few of you that have made it work, but i don't think i'd ever boost a honda, cuz it just don't seem right. however rational/irrational that may seem.
sometimes i wonder if i should just keep the lude as stock as possible and get my REAL project car when i can really afford it.
here comes the monstrous, rubber killing 150 hp '71 2002 tii, breaking down at an auto-x near you...
