Default Port/Polishing Intake manifold?

Will port and polishing an intake manifold increase overall performance?

Reason asking since the whole aebs thread in the itr forum, I read that keeping it the way it is produces better fuel atomization.

So....will porting and polishing the aebs manifold hinder its performance overall, or is it safe to keep it as it is (with the exception of gasket matching)?

Thanks.

Some mild port work might be beneficial. on the aebs IM you will gain some hp if you get it extrude honed or polished. the inside surface could be smoothened up for some more hp.

larry is more refering to cylinder heads or other products that dont already have a rough surface

the problem with the aebs is that the runners do have a rougher than ideal surface.

getting it polished or the metal clay like stuff would help cause it would be smoothing things out

Extrudehone will cost you $360 plus shipping on a 4 cylinder intake manifold...I've already looking into it.

i didnt read any of that but this is what Larry said..

We're tested heads and manifolds alike that they've applied their techniques to and I can assure you that we'd never use their services for anything we're doing here....and I think you'll find that anyone who knows airflow will tell you the same thing.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Yep...and I read that in my research too...if it was cheaper I'd just spend the $$ on getting it done and test it out, but not for that kind of $$.
