Yesterday I installed power windows and power locks off of an EX into a DX. I have done this before on my 99 hatch so I was pretty familiar with the process. After a very long day of working everything was installed and wired up. Everything works except for the drivers switch that controls the passenger window. The passenger window switch works and we did a continuity test on the driver switch for the passenger window and it appeared to work correctly. I thought that if it was in the wiring that the passenger window would not work at all but it does from that door. Do you guys think it is the switch? Let me know if you can. Once I figure this out I can probably create a DIY on it for help in the future. Thanks.

 

Make sure it has a + lead. Each window requires a + lead.

 

It does, the passenger window works with the passenger switch, just not the drivers switch. I have the Helms manual and I followed it closely.

 

I how much should I expect to pay for all the parts to do a power windows/door locks for my EK.

It depends on how you did it. did you use factory wiring and wire it into the back of the fuse box and add the relay or did you just hook the motors up to power?

I got it. Thanks everybody. There were 2 blu/blk wires and I used the wrong one. It was late and I was tired.

I would expect to pay around $300 for all of the OEM parts to do this conversion, but you can negotiate your own prices in the classifieds.

 

if i got all my stuff from a LS would it fit into my EG???
