Default WEIRD dinging sound

2 months after i got my car back from a mechanic who was replacing a wheel bearing, there's this new weird sound coming from my passenger side brake area. it makes a dinging sound only when im stepping on the brakes coming to a stop. i can kinda hear it from 2 areas. sounds like its coming from the front of my car and the passenger front brake.

when i turn the wheel theres a small clicking sound coming from the area pointed at in this picture

i also noticed that this thing (dont know what its called) was kinda cracked or broken. i tried to reflattened it yesterday. it was making a small whirring sound, now its making a ding sound.

last, i notice there was some grease on the areas circled (in pictures below). everytime that part runs through the breaks. it makes a small metal rubbing sound.

if anyone can help me pinpoint the exact problems im having, thanx. and let me know how i can fix it.

clicking sounds could be from cv boot.

especially if you're hearing it when you turn the wheel (which you said you are).

the other piece is the brake dust shield. just bend it back so it's out of the way

cv boot is the black rubber thing to the left of your red arrow.

if the cv boot is torn. the grease will leak out. causing metal to metal contact. hence the clicking noise. it seems its an inner boot that might have ripped.

i took my car to the mechanic today. he kept checking it and checking. he resurfaced the rotor. he's told me he thinks its my brakes. he said it could be the brakes because the oem's compared to aftermarkets have less metal in it. i dont know....... i cannot pin point where the sound is exactly coming from. so what else could it be

Pull off the stupid dust shield and see if it goes away. Those things are so f'in useless.
