I ran my GSR last night for the first time ever. I went to the Imports vs. Domestics in Phoenix Az. (speedworld). Heres what I ran.
Reaction: 1.302
60Ft: 2.427
ET: 15.909
MPH: 88.203
I have a 1995 GSR with I/H/E, just turned 90.000 miles and with a full interior and 10" sub, amp everything all they way down to a extra jack
. Any advice, flames whatever is appreciated, sorry if this belongs in a different forum. Thanks

strip the interior down.
take all the seats out, the system, and everything in the trunk.
get better tires or slicks

Damn...thats pretty high....
seems you went on the green and no the yellow to get that reaction time.
How are your shifts?

My shifts are pretty good (I think) The track I was at got some bad reviews from some of the people that I talked to. I was not to concerned about the reaction time, as much as I was getting off the line. I had some bad spinning from the tires, (falken azenis) I don't know what the elevation was, but not at sea level. I did go on green not yellow also.

Don't feel bad at all. If it was hot or humid your times would suffer accordingly...
I ran a 15.7 and a 16.1 with 2.3 60 ft times when I consistently run 15.4 with 2.5 60 ft times.

Well azenis are pretty good tires....they shouldnt spin that much.
Maybe you fucked your launch up? How did you launch? (NOTE: I've never gone to a track so i have no idea how to launch...just offering my oppinion). I've been curious about slip clutching a launch....allot of ppl drop the clutch, I dont think that's the right way to go about it, as soon as you break traction you're out of luck...whilst if you rev at 5k and slip clutch it, you're only breaking traction in the clutch, and as soon as you let off, you're getting full traction in the clutch, so things should be much better that way. Problem is its a recepie for clutch murder.

That does not sound too good
. First work on the shifting because a 88mph trap speed is very low for I/H/E GSR. I have seen many people trapping at 92mph + with those type of mods. Once you get the trap speed up then work on your 60'. A 2.2 60' time is what you want to go for but work on that second.
Note: I know AZ is like 100 degrees + so that may also hurt your times only I don't know by how much.

Thanks for all the input. I am sure the announcer was ripping on me bad.
Oh well. I had fun. I really want to keep trying. As far as a leak down and all that. I need to have all that done. I haven't had the money to do that. I am broke. I think that the heat was definatly a factor. Thanks for being nice to me.

Thats not too bad of a time. There are a lot of factors that contributed to that time.
-your 60ft time should be A LOT better (especially with Falken's)...did you lower the psi in the front tires????
.....with this in mind, remember this was his first trip to the strip. I have improved my time on my car every single time i've gone. Once you get more seat experience you will learn different techniques with your car. Keeping that in mind your times will dip a bit more.
-second thing, the heat doesn't help at all. Your times would drop in some lower temps.
-third, What type of I/H/E do you have?
-I think your going to have to do some quicker shifting, unless you were shifting quick, because yes....those trap speeds seem low for your mods and car.
-Keeping just those things in mind I think you could easily drop to mid/low 15's.
the biggest thing you need to do is gut the car some. Remove that foolish sub, spare, tire, jack, carpet in the back, the carboard, the rear seat, passenger seat, and anything else you can get your hands on. This is of course if your serious about getting good times at the track. It takes maybe 20 minutes to do this before you leave for the track, well worth it. Then, 20 or so minutes to put everything back in. Nothing at all...but you get performance gains out of it.
Goodluck next time you hit the track....your times will drop. trust me.

patdemps, thank you very much. You are all absolutly correct.
I felt kinda stupid at first but now I realize that I just need some time. I will be honest my first time was a ......16.33
That was even worse. I am thinking about going next saturday again. I will post up again. I did drop the pressure to about 22psi. But with all the interior etc. I guess it all adds up. Thanks again. I

No prob, just let us know how it goes. Post back up and we can do a recap.
If you lose the weight and start nailing your driving skills you will see a lot better times. Never lose faith on one appearance to the track. The more you go...the better you get.

absolutly. I need to get down to pheonix and get the car tuned at Bell Acura. Gut it and get some more runs in. It was really fun but I would pick auto-X any day over that. Thanks again I appreciate it.
