Default Did my compression test...

Well the numbers are in.

Cylinder 1: 110
Cylinder 2: 90
Cylinder 3: 105
Cylinder 4: 110

Not exactly sure if I did it right.. but if I didn't, I did do it consistantly wrong.

Whoever thinks my engine's about to blow, say "I"

wow those are bad numbers bro...minimum psi allowable is 135 i believe with a +-10 psi variation...remember stock from the factory psi for the b18b is 200psi....are you sure you had the throttle body wide open when you cranked th emotor/????make sure you press that gas pedal down when you crank motor to open it the T/B up...if you did this correctly...then those numbers you provided are bad.

EDIT: with 49,000 miles on my b18b motor i pulled 195 straight across the board.

warm up engine to normal engine temp...shut it down...remove the 15a fuse under the under titled ECU or F/I...remove all sprak plugs...put tester in spark plug hole screw it in hand tight...go back in you car and press clutch and gas pedal alll the way down...crank motor for at least 5 compression cycles...youll hear it like wee - wee- wee -wee - wee...its way slower then when you go to start your car..then get out of your car and read the gauge...repeat this process with each cylender.

Aside fromt the fact that more than likely you did it wrong, you may went to do a cylinder leak down test.

#2 is way low.... You should do a leak down, to find out what is wrong with your second cylinder.

Generally +/- 20psi variation between max and min. is the max variation you should have... You have a 20psi variation, you really need to get that checked out.

LOL well theres your problem right thurrr...

your really supposed to crank the motor till the needle stops climbing so it may take 4 cranks it may take 5 or it may take more...just make sure your motor is warmed up when you do it also..cuz when motor is cold , the piston rings and everything arent fully expanded. i did a cold test on my car and the results were 10 psi lower on all the cylenders as opposed to when i did a warm compression check.

your numbers are not consistent at all...something could be wrong with your motor.

yeah it looks like you may have some busted rings with that much of a gap in compression...

No, not at all. 180-150= 30psi variance. That is very bad.
.....but you know that because you read the rest of the thread, right?

Does the engine have to be warmed up before the compression test?

Heh.. did it the right way now.. very impressive.

Cylinder 1: 200
Cylinder 2: 195
Cylinder 3: 193
Cylinder 4: 210!

I'm happy and sad at the same time, wanted a new engine.

Those numbers still aern't good.

210-193= 17psi variance. Thats not good.

Do a leakdown test.
