basically my alarm does'nt work at all anymore, and i checked the toggle switch, and battery for remote, and still did'nt work.
when i start the car, it seems to have a slower start, even know it starts fine, just not as an alert sound on the first sound of starting.
then i noticed my dash lights dim only while the air, lights and stereo are on only while idling at a stop light????, but lights get bright when i take off from a stop.
btw its a new autozone alternator, it says (remanufactured) on it, but i bought it just several months ago, plus when my alt went out the car actually dies or stalls, so pretty sure its not that, and my radio does'nt dim at all, just the dash at idle.
i did check my alternator belt, and in my book it says to have it have tightness to where it moves about 1/4" (6mm), and it was actually tighter than that, but i did'nt know if thats what it is or not.
my car was sitting for a week before this and a weird thing about it is that this was'nt happening before i dropped it off at maaco, and i am hoping the ******* did'nt disconnect or mess with something, i mean all they were supposed to do was repair the drivers door and repaint it, since a stupid tow truck driver slammed my door into the side of a garage door, and they covered the bill for me,
one thing i read was that if you do arc welding, you need to disconnect the battery or alternator, so i was thinking if they did welding to repain the door, then maybe they did'nt do those and maybe it did something, but probably not.
any ideas?

Well the lights dimming a little at a stop sign/light isnt really anything to worry about thats normal since the altenator isnt spinning very fast so that will dim the lights a bit.
