Default Things you should know before buying CF Hoods...

Anyone??? I'm planning on getting one real soon. Still undecided on which one to get. I know i need hoodpins, but i'm scared to drill into my hood... are there any companies that have pre-drilled holes for hood pins??? Any other info on cf hoods would be appreciated. I'm probably gonna get one of the three... Bodykits NW, VIS, or fiber images cf hood.

No companies offer pre drilled hoods that I know of.

I recommend VIS for show quality but not for its weight.

I recommend VIS for its quality. Look at the pics of my jdm itr front end when i got rear ended and pushed into a minivan. the hood is the only thing that survived the accident....pretty much unscathed.

Look for it to cost $40-80 depending on the shop.

i dont see why you wouldnt drill them yourself?? Seems pretty rediculous to pay even $10 to have someone do it, let alone $40-$80.!!! Thats just insane.

I know for VIS hoods, b/c they wiegh a little more and accept the weather stripping IMO hood pins arnt nesecary (especially on US front integras).

Things you should know
1. Does the hood have rolled edges or straight cut
2. Is the hood latch metal or some other material
3. Does the hood accept OEM weather stripping

hopefully the answers to those wil be
1. rolled
2. metal
3. yes

DG hoods are the cleanest and best cf hood i have seen.. .. kinda expensive... DG Motorsports.. ..if you look in your import magazines you will see the add.. no drilling needed.. use a latch.. like stock hood...

No bitch

over 50 people on this board have bought VIS hoods from me

I've owned 5 myself

And you are going to tell me that the customer service

IE every god damn day having some one there tell me that my hood I've been waiting 4 mos for is still at there other wherehouse and rather than continue doing business with me and send some one over there to get it which would take 10 minutes. Even after I sat in god damn traffic for 2 hours to drive over there

Or having them drop ship 2 integra hoods only to have the customers both call me and say I sent them JDM hoods when my reciept clearly states otherwise. And then having the brass cojones to say they will replace them but I have to pay shipping both ways

YEAH it's only gonna cost me 500 bux for there F ups

The real deal is they don't make there hoods

some poor sweat shop dude in Taiwan that they sublet to makes them. And his boss gets paid a whopping 80 bux a hood

Oh and when you see another hood of the same quality for less it's probably made by them to

VIS is the worst customer service in the world

and if you asked around you'd already know that and not making comments about posts you obviuosly not read, since your blind I'll repost it

"While there quality is good"

Damn I could dedicate 50 pages to in examples but I'd rather do something more positive and never do business with them again yO!

Yes all hood manufacturers will recommend them. VIS has had many issues with the top layer peeling off or wind getting under the hood and it samshing into the winsdhield.

I had my old one up to 140 without them though.
