B16 alternator on d16???? HELP
i just picked up a d16z6 im gonna drop in myc ar but it doesnt have an alternator, i have one from my b16a i looked at both real quick and they look the saem, but does anyone know for sure if a b series alternator will work on a d16z6? Thanks...
B-series and D-series alternators are different. Won't fit. They use differnet brackets to hold them in place and the brackets are not interchangeable with a B-series block and D-series block.
well, you are half correct and half incorrect, you can make a d series work on a b series.....it can be done....a good example would be if you did not have the money to buy a b series you can get the old p-grinder out and make the backet work...there is an archived thread about this.....
Well i got the alternator on no problem, but the only problem is that the belt from the b16a is to short and the d16 belt is too short...is there a longer belt i can buy to put on it?
yes, get a string and wrap it around the pullies, pull the string off and measure it. Take the old betl to th auto parts store and tell them you need that belt in the size that you measured.
