Some Questions
Hello. This is my first post at this site.
I've been seriously considering buying an Integra for a while now, and have some questions. I found this site and figured that it looked like a group of well informed people. So I'll get right to it
Are there any specific problems that plague the Integra, or anything I should look for when checking out a car? What is a good price for a 94 or newer integra in good shape? Is there a specific model year in there that I should look for? I'm not talking Type R, but should I be looking for an LS, RS, or maybe a GSR? Finally(for now)what are some good, pretty basic mods I could add on? I'm not talking anything like nitrous/boost because this will be my daily driver, just whatever I can do to make it perform or look better. And no, I wont cover it in stickers and add a bodykit just because I'm a teenager who saw TF&TF
. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The only problem that i've noticed is the A-pipe tends to crack and rattle.
I bought my 94 gs-r 3 years ago for $7700 and it's been well worth twice that.
The most basic of mods you can put on are the cold air intake, header and exhaust.

heat shields will rattle, especially bad if you live or your perspective car spent any time in the north. Its just common. Also dont worry if the hatch back rattles alittle, thats pretty common as well. And easily fixable with some electrical tape! If the windows tend to "jump" while going down thats pretty common as well. Other then that steer clear of cars pre-owned by teens or if they are already modified. It usually means it was driven hard and fast. And if there wasnt something wrong with it the owner would still have it rght? Well, just look out for price scalpers and have fun. Drive alot and find what you like. Good luck.
The cam plug is notorios for oil leaks.
Few cases of stripped oil pan and it's a b!tch to replace.
RS and LS version does't have front strut bar.
This causes too much chassis flex and wandering steering effect.
Massive amount of understeer (but then most FWD cars are that way).
Otherwise it's a wonderful car.

Thanks a million guys. So I guess I'll be on the lookout for a 94/95 GSR. Right now I'm looking to spend in the 5-7k range. Is this a good price? Should I be looking to spend more? Is that too much? Sorry about the Spanish inquisition but this is the first time I've bought a car and I don't wanna get screwed or wind up with a lemon. Thanks again.

A couple of other issues that plagues the 94-95's. The main costly thing is the clutch disks had a problem where a spring retainer would break. There was actually a TSB out on this. Mine broke at about 65k miles. Cost about $650 to replace. I have also heard of some cars with a bad ABS modulator. The light on the dash should come on and I guess the ABS wouldn't work. Luckily I haven't had this. It is over $1000 to fix! Also, the power antennas are somewhat problematic, but cheap to replace / fix. Good luck. If you want good performance the GSR is definately the one to get.
the important thing you need to know before buying a car. http://www.carbuyingtips.com go there if you wanna get a good price on a new or used car.
The mechanics are unbreakable, best advice buy the very best one you can afford. Forget big wheels and crap like that look for service history then start saving up for the speeding tickets!
