b16 into 88 CRX HF
ok we are running into some problems.
we think its the wiring harness.
i am using the harness that came with the swap which i think is a SI harness.
but the car is throwing mad engine codes and just won't run right.
EVERYTHING is plugged in right nothing is missing or anything.
but the car just won't run right.
any suggestions.

by the way i have a hf also with a b16, just recheck your wiring, but most likely theres a short, try unhooking your reverse light wires next the tranny, i unpluuged mine and my check engine light went off... i have a short in my harness also but my car runs good
its throwing a air sensor something error and engine coolant error.
we check everything and it looks fine....we are starting to think that the harness might be bad.....and i don't have my old harness long story but its not there........anyone got a 88hf harness?

The HF stock harness is a little different than the other ones, and you need to cut certain wires for it to work right. I have an HF, and I would always get the coolant sensor CEL, until I unplugged my reverse light connectors. The I found out you have to cut a wire right before it gets to the ecu, in order for it not to throw the coolant CEL. I cut the wire, and re-connected my reverse light wires, and it has worked ever since. Do a search on here about that and you will find more info on it. Also, that's the only wire I had to cut, my shop did the rest of the wiring.
