Default Something is wrong with my shock, I just don't know what.

I was driving back home the other night, and my friend rolled down the window and said he heard something. We turned off the music and there it was: over big bumps I could hear a pressurized air noise. And it's gotta be the shock right? I have Tokico Illuminas if that helps out. I never noticed this before, but it could have been happening for a while, but I think someone would have noticed it before. Any idea what exactly is wrong and what exactly I should do? I just read someone got illuminas replaced for free, that would be nice. Anyone got some suggestions?

Thats funny, because I've only had my Koni's on for a couple of months and when I go up my driveway I can hear this faint pssssst sound too. Are you sure that this sound is caused by a blown shock?

There is also this low crackling that I hear when I go up my driveway too or when the suspension flexes...is this normal?

Let me guess, passenger side....YUP! Is it all oily? Seeing as how there was a recent "incident" with that corner of the car, I am sorry to say it most likely IS blown. The shock is what, at least 2 years old. I think its time for a new one.

I was hoping that there wouldnt be any more damage

Let me know if I can help.

It is possible one of mine are blown. I do hear this faint hissss sound when i'm driving down the road and go over one of those sewer covers..etc. I hope they arent but if they were wouldnt I feel something while i'm driving because now i'm under no impression that the suspension is sagging even though I hear this sound.

Yeah it's weird, now I don't hear any noise. I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm too scared to drive hard on it. I'm taking my car for service on thursday anyway, so I'll have ACURA check out that front passenger side with a fine comb. Have them tell me if the shock is done for. Hopefully that guy I IMed will tell me what his argument was for getting Tokico to replace his worn Illuminas for free. Then I can get Mclea's to throw them on there for me probably.

So Acura called me after I took it in, they say that it is my passenger rear shock that is blown and all oily. That surprised me, I don't know why that shock would have blown. Hopefully I can try and convince Tokico to give me a new set of shocks like m3guy87 said he did.
