HP of stock 97'prelude typeSH?
Hola,
I was just reading a thread about prelude hp w/ a variety AM parts etc. which
brings me to my first question. About how much horsepower does the stickshift
prelude sh have(stock)? With my 2.2L DOHC V-tech engine, I think my car has
alot of potential. After installing a cold air intake and fuelrail/regulator, where do I
go from there. I have'nt puchase A.M. headers yet because I have'nt decided
whether or not to go turbo or not. Does anyone have any good advice on
increasing my HP?Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read and or
respond.

first off search. it is your best friend. next, search some more.
second, its not v-tech. its VTEC. do your self a favor and go to http://www.howstuffworks.com and look it up. it will explain how it works and what it is.
thirdly
look for prelude stats and specs
and search for anything else that your heart desires.
and welcome to Honda-Tech

Yes, VTEC40 is correct your car has 195hp, but this does not mean you are putting down 195hp to the ground, you are probably putting somewhere between 160-165whp. Your engine is rated at 195hp but horsepower is lost through the drivetrain.

do me a favor and don't space out your post the way you did.
on to your question, read the forum guidelines at the top of the page then read the link at the bottom about natural aspiration. i believe it says NA thread or something similar. that should answer your question as to where to start modifying the car.
