I'm getting a quiet ticking sound from what sounds like the inside of the valve cover. It's nothing loud or annoying, but i'm just curious. Is something loose? If so, any advice?

on friday i was adjusting my throttle cable and i noticed the same noise....by saturday it got twice as loud and by sunday my car sounded like i have a diesel engine!....i was scared shitless that it was something fucked up in the head after pulling the valve cover last night we saw that the center cam gear bolt for the intake cam was 1/2 way loose and the metal washer was rattling back and forth.....i just tightened it and the sound went away thank God......if you have aftermarket cam gears or just had you TBelt done i would check that out.....if not you might need a valve adjustment

 

do your own valve adjustment. go to cspeedracing's site, they have a good tutorial with pictures of every step. www.cspeedracing.com It's not too hard to do it yourself, though it took me a couple tries to learn to do it correctly.
