Default AEM CAI decreases MPG?

Does AEM CAI decrease your gas mileage? Anyone? How much do you lose on a full tank of gas approximately?

I think you only decrease your gas mileage with the AEM CAI cause you'd like the sound so much you'd be on the thorottle all the time.

No seriously, i don't think you should. I didn't decrease my gas mileage when i put on a generic short ram.

you should technically get BETTER milage with i/h/e...

but as everyone said...the sound is addicting...so you mash the pedal more and therefor most likely will get worse milage

i would think the more air you flow, the more fuel your computer sprays to keep the a/f mix stoich, but then i've heard that less back pressure with i/h/e will increase your gas mileage.....personally my gas mileage has been going down with every mod that i do.......not too bad though......i average about 26 mpg

I believe that your mileage went up with the new intake, however, unless you changed gear ratios or tires, your rpm in a given gear will be the same at 75mph regardless of how much power you're making.

with I/H/E you will have better VE, this will increase the ammount of air that is able to get into the cylinder making your car more efficient, also when more air gets in more fuel needs to get in too, so it is a give and take, if you drive exactly the same as you did before you got the additions you will most likely see a small gain in mileage.

when i first got my intake i thought that it used up more gas because i was always shifting at like 4 to 5 thousand rpm. I liked the sound so much that i took it up to 4 to 5 thousand rpm everytime i shift to the next gear. but it all changed after i had it for a while.
