B20 VTEC leaking oil
I just got my B20 VTEC back this week and I'm leaking oil out of the corner where the engine stamp is. Is this normal? Why is this? How can i fix this?? Any info will help! This pic was taken this morning after I just degreased the motor and moved it back in my driveway... didn't even drive it yet!

ah yes the joy of b20vtecs. i had the same problem. the only thing i could think of is the head gasket. did you use copper spray on both sides of the gasket?
hmmmm. if anything i would try taking it out and try using the copper spray. but i have also heard that there is a 50% chance of getting the gasket to seal correctly. also when you re-did your dowl pins are they sitting down deep enough?

before pulling the head off.. check the Vtec solinoid gasket.. it might be rips and the oil is just leaking donw making it look like its coming from the head gasket... just double check everything before pulling it all apart.... save ya some time...[
I have seen this before where it looks like it is comming from the head gasket. But if you look closely it sometimes is comming from the half moon in the valve cover gasket. When you install the valve cover gasket you have to put a thin layer of RVT in the half moons and the cam cap corners.
Just something to look at.

Is this the only spot around the head that you are seeing a leak? Having a leak in this corner could be a problem with the plug used to block the oil passage in the head. I have seen them leaking by the plug on a few of these head swaps. Maybe it's not in your case but thought I would put that out there. Good luck with it.

check all the provable leak sources, once you rule all them out re-torque the head. if after retorqueing the head, the leaking does not seize you'll need to remove the head. once the head is off, the first thing to look for is at the oil passage block off. make sure that it was sealed with a good thread sealer, and also make sure that you use a head gasket for the bottom end you're running ex, ls bottom end needs ls head gasket, b20 bottom end needs b20 head gasket. do not use an ls head gasket on a b20 block! good luck

I started the car and looked to see where it was leaking from. It looks like it's coming from the cam shaft seal. Are those STR billet ones any good or how can I get this one to seal?
i would just buy a str one, i have used it before and it's pretty good. it should cost you no more than 30 bucks, or you can just clean the old one and apply a good coat of hondabond!
great.... lots of good info, I know for a fact that the cam shaft seal is leaking and I will check for the dizzy "O" ring too. Thanks, where's the cheapest place to buy STR stuff??
