Default 11.0.1 cr JE pistons for h23

Would this be safe with an h22 stock head? Stock rods crank so forth. I looked in the h23vtec post and couldnt find anything. I still want daily drivability and not be breaking stuff.

An 11:1 H23 piston is way less compression with a H22A head. Maybe 10.5:1 at best.

Do you think it would still be safe to rev it to the 7200 rpm range of the vtec head? I want toi be able to rev the motor in that range. should I maybe get some good rods too?

I'd be more worried about your crank.

The fact is it's less reliable. Deal with it or don't do it. Rods will help prevent egging at the high rpms but really your bearings will take a beating. H22a redline is 7400 btw.

I shot peened my rods when I did the H23 VTEC, it was the crank that didn't last.

What were you reving your engine to? Didnt the crank break because you had it knifed. Just wondering...... not trying to be an ***

Is a stock crank good or are they all just really bad for the higher rpms? I really dont think that 7400 rpms is that bad for the crank but I am just an amature> Thanks for the help

you can do it, I'm just saying it's not as reliable.

Yeah I had a knifed crank spun to 8500rpms...we were asking for it.

H22a fuel cut is 7800 though it wasn't that far off

Yeah I would not knifethe crank or anythng like that. I only ocasionally get in the 7000 rpmrange but I am a little scared about doing it all the time

why do it if you're not going to rev it to where the power is?
