intakes : do they do anything besides roar?
If you have a stock Legend and remove your air filter and resonator and put on a short ram intake, does it add any real performance or just make more noise during wide open throttle ?
Secondly, why cant I post or reply to other people's posts in the classified section ?

To answer your first question I have a 1992 legend that ran a 16.3 bone stock, I know its hard to believe but I bought the aftermarket weapon R intake and ran a 15.9 in the quarter mile. Well you have to understand that the intake doesn't make much hp at all it all depends on the weather the colder the weather the more hp you can gain but not much at all. usally any where from 1 to 10 hp, it just depends on how cold the air that the intake is sucking in. Quick question did you remove all of the stock intake includeing the extra parts around the passanger wheel fender. That helps out a lot.
I need to check out your intake, I'm thinking about getting my father one for Xmas... He and I were messing around at Firebird this past weekend and I have to say, for bracket racing that car could win all day long! Every one of his runs were within .005 of each other... Towards the end of the night( it was team firebird night, we were just running in the Test & tune class) We got like 10 runs in without a wait! So I jumped into his car and he jumped in mine, so i went to the burnout box and roasted the hell out of the tires on his car( I think just the passenger side tire was spinning) the guy in the stagine area was shaking his head at me, so i rolled the window down and said, " I don't get to beat on my fathers car without getting into trouble so I had to!"
a ram intake does not do much good, it will help depending on conditions, but under normal driving, or even fast-non racing driving, you arent going to notice much of a difference.
I run a 15.5 on my legend. 92 coupe 5 speed with a cold air intake, remus exhaust, and a crappy transmission. I think the cold air intake is the biggest help on this, because I used to have a ram intake, and ran low 16s.
If you are interested in one of these, I manufacture them specifically for legends. The kit includes all the parts needed to do the swap, and instructions on how to do it. Let me know if anything like that would interest you, or anyone else here. The price is $175, and takes about 2 weeks for delivery (due to manufacturing times)
