Default Prelude 4th Gen Gauges in Ashtray. Wanting to do this, what all is needed?

I have done a search and came up with nothing. I know that it have been done. I have seen it b4. Is there a custom piece that is avlb? Or do you just custom cut a piece of plastic and put it in place of the ashtray?
Trying to put gauges in the ashtray.
If someone can point me in the right direction. Thanx
Any pictures?????

duct tape...

i would make a mold and use fiberglass or carbon fiber but getting the weave right is hard for first timers

http://www.macqc.com/raceplates/ order a small plate, cut to fit hole and then just cut two 2 holes for the gauges.

fiberglass matting. cheapest and lightest. and it will hold up jus fine for its purpose. easy to cut too!

the gauges arent light though. maybe stick a piece of aluminum in the middle of the layers of glass to reenforce it. cant hurt at least ya know.

Why do you want to put gauges down there, too low of a location to do you any good.

I have a set of three gauges in a roughly cut piece of sheet steel right underneath my headunit, where that little tray thing is.

I'm about to replace it w/ an aluminum diamond plate piece w/ two gauges in it, and the third gauge's spot on the left is going to have my nitrous arming switch and purge button.

I'll try to get a pic up showing it...seems like it'd be a bit easier than making a panel for the ashtray area.

autometer makes a two-pod pillar for a prelude, and has done so for quite a while

Yeah, they do; But i like to keep my gauges out of sight, so it's not too obvious to a thief, and so people don't notice I have the need for the gauges....
