Best 1/4 mile time for a stock 98 USDM R
Man thats crazy low 14's stock pretty dam good. A friend of mine just got a 98 R and he cant break 14's here in this houston heat, best time to date is a 15.1. I hit a 14.5 bone stock with my 01 PY R, here in Houston.

i was have the legends of type R video and the jdm itr back in 98 ran high 14.9 with pro driver.. the ctr ran 15.6 with pro driver..
Nope, it was October, but not that cold.
Victor ran them the same day I first ran my '98 R. I had 2,000 miles on it, had never run a fwd car before and still managed a 15.1@93.
Saw Victor run the 14.0 on slicks and was absolutely blown away!! Asked him what he had done, and then checked out the car. Totally stock, full interior, just slicks.

Pro driver
Hmm Steph flew to Japan to test them? lol
FWD requires some seat time to get a good launch down I would imagine ITR and CTR drivers get enough seat time that youll see a 14.9 is not the absouloute best despite having a "pro" drive.....sounds like the guy cut a 2.4-2.5 60'...hardly ideal for measuring 1/4 mile acceleration

I remember throwing times back in forth back in 98 with a CW R from Naperville or somewhere? He did run a faster 14.3 than me, so that time above does sound familiar. I don't drag race anymore, nor car about it. It was basiclly to prove a point that most magazines ran a "non broken in" TYPE-R, giving most GSR owners big heads, saying that the R wasn't worth it. And again, the R didn't fully open up until after 10K miles... Point was made.
If anyone can remember the Honda/Acura 1/4 board from G-Speed, Frank remembers, maybe our times were still up, lol
