Default F1 US Grand Prix

Is anyone going to Indianapolis to watch the US F1 Grand Prix on 09/30/01? I think tickets are about 175-200 $. I can't wait to see those cars in action...Did anyone go last year? If so, how was it?

I went last year and it was great! I remember the first moment I walked through the stands and up to the track just as an F1 car came screaming by.....no it didn't scream, it shreaked by. I could feel the sound in my chest, I must have been 6 feet away on the front straight. WOW. Much different sounding than CART cars

Oh, yea I'll be there for sure, hell had tickets since last year

Canadian GP is Great and the night life even better because of European Flavor and diehard Fans! Lots of Factory supported PR. (So far 12 yrs straight attended)
USGP is great race but hicks everywhere that has no idea What or Who F-1 is!
All they know is Andretti name, and Ferrari brand, give me a break!
Forget about the night life!

If you think they are lots of hicks at the USGP, try going to the Brickyard 400 or the Indy 500. At the Brickyard, I swear there were 300,000 Rednecks, hicks, whatever surrounding me. Suffice to say, I only went once!!!

I didnt see many "hicks" at the Indy GP last year. What I did see was a bunch of Euro's and and tons of people wearing red. The people really seemed to be into F1.

Are you possibly thinking back to the old days when the F1 race ran at Watkins Glen? That was before my time, but I've heard there was a hick element present at that race. Didnt they have some sort of mud pit or something at that race? They called it "The Bog" or something like that?

I will be there just as I was last year. It's incredibly exciting and the fans are all fanatics like Chad and I so it's a lot of fun. Not many rednecks there. Every once in a while you'll see one looking a bit confused as to why the cars are turning in two different directions but for the most part a lot of european folks. I was even hanging out with a couple of writers for a British car magazine. Can't remember if it was Car or Evo at the moment but it was fun talking to them about all the cars we can't have (or I can't afford). I hope they are prepared this year. Last year I believe they thought people would bring coolers of bud light and coors like the nascar fans do or something because they ran out of just about everything. The vendors could not even come close to handle the demand.

I went last year and it was a FREGGin BLAST! I am going again this year and taking a bunch more people with me. Not too many rednecks there, a lot of people from overseas though! It was a great time. If you think you would even REMOTELY be intrested in the race you should definitely go, seeing and hearing the F1 cars in person will change you forever. Last time I checked, there will still some seats available for this year, check http://www.usgpindy.com. I think the tix are $75-130 or so...

Good luck,
Stephen

I have a lot of fun last year! I wish I had tickets this year since though. Dan, I think the name of the British magazine was RACER??? Anyway, I checked out the couple issues after the event last year and they didn't mention us nor our winnie that they were all up in!! It was great talking to him though, even about his ACCORD TYPE-R that he once owned.

Thanks,
Victor Perri II

I went to this years Canadian GP, my first, and it was awesome. The night light was also cool. It was bad *** to have all these F1 Fans around. Hope to go to Suzuka next year.
