Default sticky clutch

Has anyone had a problem where when they drive and step on their clutch it feels and sounds kind of sticky? For awhile i thought i had just stepped in something like soda, so when i would drive it would feel like the clutch pedal stuck to my left foot. But recently i've been hearing a sound that makes it seem like the clutch pedal isn't engaging smoothly. Not quite sure how to describe the situation exactly, but has anyone else experienced something like this?

1) inspect MCC
2) inspect clutch for broken spring(s)
