Default crx...whats the best engine for the price

hey im lookng at swapping and 89 crx for a jdm engine. im a college freshman so im really strapped for cash. it doesnt have to be v-tec but i just want it to be able to hold its own on the street. im gonna run NOS on it too so whatever will help me. if you know any websites with pics and lists of what i need and some places to buy it from. and im in TN so if there are any shops you guys know of please tell me. thanks.

take my advice..... get a B20 with a B16 tranny with skunk2 IM, header, intake and exhust and you'll be able to hold you own just fine.....

You'll be able to hold your ground with GSRs and should be killing B16 and 99si for sure. B20 has more torque and make as much power as a old *** B16a1.

B20 can take about 75 shot dry with not worries.
later down the road you can always add a vtec head if need be.

Well if you're looking at JDM engines pricewise
1)SOHC ZC(NONV)-$250 for 108 HP
2)DOHC ZC -$350 for 125ish HP
2)D15B SOHC VTEC $350 for 125ish but not the same not the same bottom end grunt as the 1.6's.
3)SOHC ZC VTEC- 450ish for 125ish, less worn out.


I know what you mean by strapped for cash
This is my 4th yr in Community College and I'm still a SOPHMORE!!!lol

whats some good sites where i can purchase these componets ccause ive seen them as whole engines but i couldnt find any where i could buy the top or the bottom and where is the best place to get wiring. if u cant tell ive never really been into the racing scene. ive always attended but ive been into SPL cars for the past few years. me and my freind built two that hit over 155dB. im tryin to get into something new. and where did you see those prices on the engines????
