i have heard different things from different people mechanics. however, when I personally have compared the angle of the joints on lowered and non lowered cars, there doesnt seem to be much of a difference.

some people will tell you different things, but it's mostly just hearsay.

if your slammed yes, if you have a reasonable drop no.

this is especially true on H22 civics that don't have special axles

A week after I lowered, I ripped the boot. After that, I'm fine.

for some reason i have seen many boots rip shortly after the car is initially lowered. after that, they have always been fine.

i went to honda to get my valves adjusted and they said i needed to get my boots replaced cause i lowered my car and theyll tear at any second.. 2 years later doing my own monthly inspections my boots are still in good shape, no clicking, tears, rips, or grease on my axles. poway honda =

agressive drop (Neuspeed Race+Koni yellows, aggresive IMO), havent had a problem.

However, changing suspension geometry does have an effect on the axles/cv joints. But probably not enought to get in a twist over.

I noticed i went through axles over the years of being dropped...

but on the otherhand thats what i get for using 50.00 lifetime warranty axles always the boots were fine, but the bearings would start the famous click click.
