ls/vtec rod issues
if the main weakness in most ls/vtec's is rod bolt failure or rod stretch... how can thi sbe prevented without upgrading the rods?
arp rod bolts alone do the trick?

ARP Rod Bolts.
Shotpened LS Rods.
Actually depends how high you wanna rev, I've seen people use just the bolts, but I will be doing the rods as well, better safe than sorry.

Arp bolts will be fine. Before I rebuilt my ls vtec, I was using stock rods with arp bolts and I was using an ecu done by locash and he didnt put a rev-limiter on it. Whenever I would miss a gear it would shoot up to 9k+ and My rods were fine. One time I hit 9950 according to my V-AFC and the rods never let go, so ARP will be fine up to 8k.
Also a friend of mine is running stock+ ARP's in his ls/vtec, takes it to 9200 daily!

imo the rod will break long before the bolt... we were making 185hp and turning 8500 daily in our stock bottom b20vtec for about 25k miles with no problems from the rods or the rod bolts
