Ok, just for the hell of it, 2338 miles to AZ Motorsports Park, at an underestimated 25mpg and on an average $1.80/gallon, that's about $168 for gas each way. Comparing that to $800 for shipping the car, even with hotels added in (not that I'll be doing that, cheapskate that I am), looks like driving will be cheaper. This is from Baltimore, for any who are interested.
So that's like $350-450 in trip costs, another $300-350 for track time...total estimated cost of $800 for an awesome friggin' trip. Sounds fine to me.

I got 30 mpg from FL to PA with ATS
I think you may need to bump up the price per gallon average a little, but good stats nonetheless.

Ok, well, the better mileage and higher price will most likely balance out then. $2.25 for 91 octane? *****...Is 91 acceptable to run an R on? I've been using 93 here on the East Side.

Good times indeed, George. Let's hope Expo '03 pales in comparison to Expo '04, eh? Given the lack of hills in AZ, that might be difficult, but let's hope nonetheless.
You're crazy man. I mapped the trip from Toronto and it will take 37 hours. 40 hours is considered a full work week. WTF!
I don't think I will be making the trek to Arizona next year unless something fantastic comes my way... hint hint Baby Nsx.

Steve, you're a lucky bastard. And Chad, I don't INTEND to get arrested. Tickets...well...yeah, probably. Insurance rate increases, we'll see, my company has never been too up on keeping up with speeding tickets... I also didn't count gas station junk food, so that's another $200 there
.Whatever the case, the last Expo was unforgettable, and with a nice, long roadtrip incorporated into this one, as well as (hopefully) another nice East Coast caravan, so it'll be worth it.

Just bring along some Tuelean for the boost in octane. you should be fine. I guess i will tied to the back of steve's car on the way to the expo.
I will make the trip as well most likely from the same area as you sccguy.

I just kinda feel bad about some of the East Coast people who have their vehicles tuned and dialed in on 93-94 octane gas simply because you won't be able to run at your cars full potential at the 91 that is available out here.

Cars don't run that much different from 91 to 93-94 octane. And like lance said, it's not a race.
